tracing the pattern - Burda 2/2014 mod.112

Pochi pezzi, cuciture dritte, niente cerniera, niente fodera: questo abito può essere realizzato anche da chi non ha mai toccato ago e filo. Anche prendere le vostre misure è il massimo della semplicità, perché non serve altro che la misura del seno.

Iniziamo!

• con un metro da sarta misurate la circonferenza del petto, seguendo le istruzioni di Burda.
• confrontate la vostra misura con la tabella delle taglie. Io ho 89, perciò scelgo la taglia 38 seeee... magari. Pare proprio che non sia così semplice
• cercate sulla rivista le istruzioni per l'abito e cerchiate la vostra taglia, come nella foto qui sotto.

Few pieces, straight sews, no zipper, no lining: this dress can be done even if you're at your first experience with needle and thread. Taking the measures will be easy too, as you won't need anything but the size of your chest.

A true D.I.Y. anyway. So let's begin!

• with a fabric measuring tape measure your chest, following those Burda instructions.
• choose your size by confronting your measure with the charts. Mine is 38, since my chest is 89 cm. yeah, I wish it's was simple
• find the instructions for the dress on Burda and make a circle on your size, as in the photo below.

• leggete dove si trova il tracciato: in questo caso è sul foglio A, in blu, pezzi dal numero 1 al 6.
• aprite il foglio A, individuate il primo pezzo da rilevare, mettete sopra la carta velina stendendola bene, spillatela al foglio tracciati.
• aiutandovi con lo schema sulla rivista, rilevate TUTTE le linee, i numeri e le annotazioni. Vi saranno tutte molto utili durante la costruzione dell'abito.
• ripetete l'operazione per tutti pezzi e ritagliateli. Alla fine otterrete questo:

• on Burda, read where's located your patter: in the italian issue is on paper A, blue lines, pieces from 1 to 6.
• open the pattern paper, find the first piece, put the tissue paper on it, make sure it lies down evenly, then pin it to the pattern paper.
• with the help of the scheme on Burda, copy every line, number and annotation. They will be of great help during the making of the dress.
• repeat the operation for each piece and cut them. When finished, you should have something like this:

Notate che il davanti e il dietro sono in un unico pezzo (in questo post spiego perché). Per far questo è sufficiente rilevare il modello fino all'orlo più in basso, senza linee in mezzo. Se pensate di realizzare l'abito esattamente come su Burda, tracciate anche la linea in basso e poi tagliate. AGGIORNAMENTO: come vedrete nei post successivi, ho cambiato idea e ho lasciato la cucitura in basso.
Facile fino a qui, vero? Nel prossimo post vi mostrerò la stoffa che ho scelto e il piazzamento dei pezzi del modello.

Those are the patterns for the dress: you'll notice that the front and the back are in one piece (in this post I explain why). If you're planning to make the dress exactly as in Burda, just trace the lower line and then cut. UPDATE: as you'll see in the next posts, I've chasnged my mind and decided to keep the lower sew.
